Sandstone Dyeing 🔴

The Sandstone Dyeing datapack from Vanilla Tweaks is a Crafting Tweaks datapack that lets players craft red sandstone from regular sandstone using red dye.

🧠 How It Works

In vanilla Minecraft:

• Red Sandstone naturally generates in badlands (mesa) biomes.

• There is no recipe to convert sandstone into red sandstone, even though the blocks are nearly identical in function and structure.

With this datapack:

• You can dye standard sandstone into red sandstone using red dye.

• The recipe is shapeless, meaning items can be placed anywhere in the crafting grid.

🧱 Shapeless Recipe:

1 Sandstone + 1 Red Dye → 1 Red Sandstone

• Works with all forms of sandstone, including:

  • Sandstone

  • Cut Sandstone

  • Smooth Sandstone

(Note: only base blocks are dyeable — stairs, slabs, and variants still need to be crafted from red sandstone separately.)
